What the Stars Predicted for a Fallen StarMovies, Video & TV
Perhaps you are holding your nose and saying ' eewwww', Michael Jackson. I thought he left Neverland for the Persian Gulf, never to be seen again. But wait! Here, he comes again - selling out a new series of summer concerts in the U.K., faster than you can say "Beat It." There is definitely something afoot in the Zodiac when it comes to the rise and fall and rise again of Michael Jackson. Let's review his Astrology Signs to see if we can understand his resurgence and the trends it suggests. The Zodiac, the charts, and a psychic reading show Michael Jackson is clearly the master of his own destiny, and, at times, his own defeat. Currently, Michael Jackson is in a fortunate cycle, coming out of self-imposed exile in the Middle East to take center-stage in at least 50 sold-out concerts in the U.K. Over many decades of performing, he has demonstrated far more success in business, than in social or personal relationships (ostensibly remaining a recluse). We do see that one of his greatest talents is an intuitive sense of "timing." For example, he purchased the Beatles song catalog (outbidding Paul McCartney) and made a fortune (it's unclear now, where that fortune or the catalog rights now stand). His current, 2009 concert schedule is likewise based on an astute knowledge of the economics of supply and demand (very little Michael Jackson supply vs. pent-up demand to see him again). He is likely to make yet another fortune from these concerts. Despite reports about his recent financial woes, Michael Jackson is a shrewd businessman. Given the economy and the tenor of the times; he knows something many of us don't about what consumers will pay for and at what price. Michael Jackson is a master of magic and illusion. His concert sell-out is occurring at the same time an auction of a large number of his Neverland furnishings and his personal items is to be held. (He has since filed a lawsuit to stop the auction he originally authorized). The proposed auction and then his recent lawsuit against it, is typical Michael Jackson now-you-see it,now-you-don't controversy, promotion and old-school magic (he has always excelled at misdirection and re-invention). While he sends out one message he is down and out, in the next Michael Jackson second, he is flashing across the entertainment world like an asteroid, lighting up the sky. There is no better Houdini than Michael Jackson, and as far as I can tell, Houdini could not sing or dance. It is an open question as to whether Michael Jackson is a better performer than a magician, but his magical talent is definitely enhanced by the Zodiac influences in his chart. Both Mercury (the quicksilver communicator) and the Moon in Pisces (dreamy, mystical, secret, moody) are strong influences in his life and work. There are other recent signs that Michael Jackson is experiencing a Renaissance. His songs were featured on a recent episode of American Idol (2009). None of the contestants seemed able to duplicate the vocal range, dancing and showmanship. Michael Jackson didn't have to set foot on stage to appear as if he was there. The performance of his songs was yet another indication of Michael Jackson's great facility for self-promotion and showmanship and his ability to retain the spotlight, even sight unseen. This quality reveals the strength of charismatic Leo's influence in Michael Jackson's chart. Still, the broader (and my preferred analysis) Zodiac analysis is based on Michael Jackson's Sun Sign, the Virgo archetype. On a superficial reading, he is an unlikely Virgo. Born August 29, 1958, Jackson seems far removed from the image of an earth-bound Sign. His rising sign, Libra, and his moon, Pisces, are better indicators of his public persona: the dreamy, mystical, charming, child-like superstar. Or so it would seem. There are some lesser-known qualities, archetypically Virgo, that also describe Michael Jackson's personality (at least the part he has revealed to the public). Among the typical Virgo traits he exhibits: - An affinity for small animals and children - (remember his private zoo and Bubbles, the Chimp) and a parade of never-ending children visiting Neverland, (although the reason for the latter has been strongly questioned). -Perfectionism - just how many plastic surgeries he's had is unknown, but the number of surgeries reveal his inability to achieve what he considers perfection. His performances also seem magical and perfect; they have been honed and defined by decades of constant practice and precision, stemming from the demands allegedly placed upon him as a young child star. -Acting talent - in music videos, film and in public appearances or disappearances (who doesn't think the surgical masks and the jeweled glove he wore weren't acting?) Who isn't still impressed by his work in "Thriller"? - Great energy and great strength - far more than his fragile appearance suggests - Michael Jackson's strength is most readily seen in his dancing athletics, concert performances and music videos. There is the undeniable influence of the on-again/off-again Planet Vulcan in Michael Jackson's Virgo Sun Sign. At one time, astrologers thought Vulcan (at that time, unseen) to be the true ruler of Virgo - prompting those born in Virgo to be far more confident, courageous and less inhibited than the influence of Mercury. Vulcan was viewed as the planet of Thunder,. If any personality were ever indicative of the unleashing of thunder, it would be Michael Jackson. Of course, the astrological impact of Vulcan on Virgo fell out of favor when scientists and astronomers decided Vulcan did not exist (at least not outside of Star Trek). But, in October 2008, scientists at NASA and elsewhere viewed a new solar system using data from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Dr Massimo Marengo—from the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics—and Dr Dana Backman—from the SETI Institute—claimed they found a solar system, a younger twin of our own, about 10.5 light-years distance from us. The star is called Epsilon Eridan, the legendary home of Star Trek's Mr. Spock, who hailed from the Planet Vulcan. It remains to be seen whether this solar system will yield a place for Vulcan on the Zodiac charts, as once predicted by the famed astrologer,Linda Goodman. After Spock, Vulcan's second emissary, would surely be Michael Jackson. Character Analysis & Trend Prediction: The mystery of who Michael Jackson is remains that: a mystery. His many attempts to remake his face reveal much more about him than mere vanity. Ultimately, he is a person unhappy with who he is; strongly believing the physical to be more important than the mental or spiritual. His over-emphasis of the material and the physical, and the charges brought against him, despite the acquittals, have caused him great cosmic harm, as well as a universal lack of trust and respect. Now at the age of 50, Michael Jackson can no longer play Peter Pan. Age has defied him, but it has also given him a chance at redemption. He has a rare opportunity now to seek personal and public rehabilitation through unrelenting good work, charity, and a spiritual asceticism. The latter will help him find inner peace, if he freely shares some of the gifts that he possesses. Finally, Michael Jackson's current popularity reflects the growing trend I see in more public acclaim for and awareness of androgynous performers. Watch for a rebirth in the popularity of 1970-80s artists like Jackson, Grace Jones and David Bowie. These artists reflect a blur between reality and fantasy. They make an artistic statement that life is "neither black or white." This new popular cultural trend towards an overt theatrical "oneness" will extend to fashion, art and the general design and style of items we consume. Science Fiction will experience an increase in demand - both in literature and film. New forms of literature and music also will debut, as non-fiction and fiction, classical and brain-wave music merge and blend. Electric Grey is the new fashion statement. 3.13.09
This was written back in March of 2009 - before the death of the star. Unfortunately, he did not have the opportunity to redeem himself. There is still much mystery surrounding the circumstances of Michael jackson's death, but his music and his memory live on.
